We have been laser focused in our first collection by keeping it simple. We focused on one sustainable fiber (Organic Peruvian Pima Cotton), one fabric construction (Jersey), and the most iconic staple in our closets - the Tee Shirt. This does not make us a tee shirt brand; it simply makes us careful and considerate for having taken a gentle first step into our journey of bringing sustainability to fashion.

Organic Peruvian Pima Cotton GOTS Certified (Global Organic Textile Standard) 

We have favored this natural fiber by Bergman Rivera S.A. for all the good that it does. Our organic cotton is produced on land free of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides and defoliants that preserves biodiversification. It uses 90% less water and emits 46% less carbon than its conventional cousin. In association with Bergman Rivera, not only is traceability of the organic cotton guaranteed, but also the fair treatment of every person involved in the production chain.

 

In Peru, Organic Cotton Farms Are Owned And Managed By The Indigenous Farming Communities 

The farmers form a collective by joining their forces and know-how together as a community to optimize the fruits of their labor. Organic agriculture has an ancient history in Peru, passed down through the centuries, as part of its DNA, an inherent bond between the farmers and their land.

We use OEKO-TEX Dyes to create fabric that has been tested and certified to be free of more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health. 

 

Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI Certified)

 

We are SFIC in all of our carton materials. We gave special consideration to reducing packaging waste by sizing our shippable boxes to the specific garments to eliminate any packing filler or additional containers.

 

 

Environmentally Conscious Trims & Packaging

Clothing and packaging go hand in hand—clothing cannot be delivered without protective packaging. We believe that packaging, like clothing, must jointly consider its impact on the planet. We have carefully considered our packaging, to use fewer materials, all recyclable and biodegradable.

• Truth Alone Hang Tags are made on 100% recycled cardboard, which also will become recyclable. Use of recycled material prevents cutting down more trees for producing virgin paper or board.

• The 100% Cotton greige strings for the Hang Tags eliminates an additional dyeing process. This will ensure the minimization of additional use of water, dyestuff and chemicals.

• Truth Alone Garment Care Labels are made on Cellulose Acetate tape; this material is biodegradable, hence environmentally friendly, so when  you tear away the label, you will not be adding to landfill.

• Truth Alone chose to use 100% Biodegradable Plastic Poly-bags for its garments. This special plastic technology reduces the bag's lifespan in landfill, eliminating long term impact. This plastic bag can also be re-used and recycled in the same way as ordinary plastic.

• The Truth Alone shipping boxes are made from card board materials that are SFI Certified which means that materials used to produced them come from well managed forest that includes measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and Forests with Exceptional Conservation Value.
